Drum roll, please, and trumpet blast. Dusty Shutt Silver announces our newest location, opening October 6, for First Friday Art Walk! We’ve rolled out the red carpet. Come check out what we have in store for you.
Our new shop is Horse Alley Studio located at 2425 ¾ Colorado Ave in Old Colorado City’s National Historic District. Filled with fascinating pieces of fabulous jewelry, our newest location has quite the interesting history. Did you know…
- Horse Alley is the six-foot wide space found running between the magnificent two-to-three story buildings of Old Colorado City?
- While horse-owners conducted business or found entertainment on the main streets of the town, their horses remained tied in the Horse Alley behind the shops?
- This practice kept the streets of town clean and tidy?
- One of these alleys is still open for foot traffic in the 2400-2500 block of Colorado Avenue?
Colorado Avenue traverses the heart of Old Colorado City and is lined with shops for your perusing pleasure. But the newest one stands out – Dusty Shutt Silver. Here you’ll discover hand-crafted treasures of wearable art. Craig and Dusty Shutt are silversmiths outstanding in their field. The Colorado highlands have influenced their craft, and they create jewelry imitating the Colorado high country. No two pieces are exactly alike as each is designed from loving imagination.
Craig and Dusty travel representing their jewelry in various art shows around the country. They also have a shop in Wickenburg, Arizona in the art gallery there. Kept busy with their love of creating jewelry, they’re happy to now be settled into Horse Alley Studio.
And you’ll be happy they’re there, too! Stroll down the historic streets of Old Colorado City and shop your favorite stores. Come in and meet Craig and Dusty, and explore the finest pieces of hand-crafted sterling silver, turquoise, and other stones set in necklaces, cuffs, rings, and earrings. We will craft at your request, too.
From jewelry pieces classic, slim, and feminine to the heavy and masculine, you’ll find what you’re looking for. Come on in – the red carpet is out at The Horse Alley Studio, 2425 ¾ Colorado Avenue in Old Colorado City. You’re invited!
